Gold jewellery was among the leading lights of this year's annual Jewellers of America competition in New York. <BR/><BR/>A series of elaborately decorated pieces were honoured at the awards ceremony, suggesting the precious yellow metal is once more en vogue.<BR/><BR/>Winners at the 14th annual JA Affiliate Design Competition, which was staged at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre, included Jason Baskin for his 10.05-carat green tourmaline, diamond and gold pendant necklace.<BR/><BR/>Jack Demerjian of J. Demere Designs in Michigan also took home honours for his white and yellow gold necklace with a 12.52-carat citrine. <BR/><BR/>The competition brings together the cream of American jewellers, honouring those who have crafted the finest pieces in a variety of categories.
