Bulgari reports $79 million in jewellery profits

Jewellery sales at Bulgari increased by 13.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2004, according to its latest results.<BR/><BR/>The contemporary Italian jeweller revealed total turnover was up by six per cent compared to the year before at $190 million.<BR/><BR/>Francesco Trapani, Chief Executive Officer of the Bulgari Group told Tacy Ltd: "I am very satisfied with the obtained sales results, which are coherent with our growth objectives for the entire year 2004. I am particularly pleased…with the very good level of the orders received during the latest Basel fair."<BR/><BR/>Mr Trapani claimed that the positive results highlight the effectiveness of the company's efforts to "increase the gross margin and to further control operating expenses".<BR/><BR/>Bulgari has also just launched a new campaign for its Astrale jewellery collection made from white gold and based on harmonious shapes and diamond motifs.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2650863"/>
