Wednesday, 21st July 2004 (4607 views) Russia has increased gold production by more than 3.5 tonnes in the first half of this year.<BR/><BR/>Data released by Interfax shows that ore, associated and secondary production enjoyed a 6.4 per cent year-on-year increase in the first half of this year.<BR/><BR/>Total production rose to 61.822 tonnes, with the union of gold industrialists identifying marked growth in secondary production.<BR/><BR/>Secondary production increased 140 per cent to 5.561 tonnes of gold over the half., while associated production was also up, by 18 per cent.<BR/><BR/>Direct gold extraction fell slightly to 50.714 tonnes, down 0.7 per cent.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3074686"/>
