Golden designs impress Gucci

An Australian jeweller impressed Gucci so much with his use of gold and opal that he has been commissioned to craft a necklace for Elisabetta Gucci.<BR/><BR/>Brisbane jeweller Bruce Tully is now creating a piece for the great granddaughter of the founder of the luxury goods group.<BR/><BR/>He told The Australian: "I want to do for opal what Paspaley has done for pearls, and De Beers for diamonds."<BR/><BR/>The jeweller's designs which can cost up to $30,000 each, include opal pendants threaded onto to gold necklaces.<BR/><BR/>"I like his pieces - they're colourful, joyful… Opal isn't very well known outside Australia, but Bruce has made me appreciate its true value," said Florentine socialite Ms Gucci.<BR/><BR/>The Depazzi design company was first launched in 2002 by Mr Tully.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3128461"/>
