Hobby leads to profits for US jewellerThursday, 18th November 2004 (4503 views) A woman from Illinois, America, has managed to turn her love for jewellery into a profit making business.Melissa LaPota enjoyed a hobby of jewellery making and has now begun to sell a profitable line of custom made earrings, necklaces and bracelets. The Tessa Jewelry designs have now grown so popular that they are sold in retail stores and on the Internet. "People have actually stopped and complimented me about a particular necklace I happen to be wearing. When they find out it's my own design, they offer to buy it right from my neck," Ms LaPota told Pioneer Press. The jewellery line comes in 14 carat gold and also includes semi precious gems and pearls. Prices for the range begin at $55 and move up to $800.
