Golden Phoenix Minerals has announced it has appointed a new chief financial officer on its board.

The board of directors at the firm has also approved a new outside advisory committee to help with topics such as investor awareness, broadening the shareholder base and heightening market perception.

Bill Thomas, who has been chosen by the board, has been controller at the company for over a year and will now report to the audit committee of the board of directors.

According to the company's CEO, Michael Fitzsimonds, the company has made the changes to ensure it has the best guidance possible from experts in relevant areas.

Golden Phoenix is based in Nevada and acquires properties for exploration and development, focusing on gold, copper and silver.
