Positive production results at SamiraFriday, 17th December 2004 (3354 views) Samira Hill has produced more than 9,000 ounces of gold in the second month of commissioning, Semafo and Etruscan Resources announced this week.The mine has now produced a total of more than 18,000 ounces of gold since it started operating on September 25th this year. Semafo is a mining company, which aims to explore and develop gold and base metal deposits in West Africa. At present the company, which works under the Nigerian firm Societe des Mines du Liptako, operates a total of two gold mines. During commissioning the plant achieved 90 per cent of the targeted throughput and used less consumables then was suggested in the feasability study.
