Wednesday, 22nd December 2004 (9088 views) The Export Development Board (EDB) in Sri Lanka has announced it is launching a promotional scheme for jewellery and gems in France and Italy.<br/><br/>According to Lankapuvath Daily News, the campaign is in response to an increasing demand for Sri Lanka's exports in the two European countries.<br/><br/>Demand has also been up for Sri Lankan jewellery at the prestigious Basel fair.<br/><br/>Programmes are now underway to promote business to jewellery manufacturers in both the areas.<br/><br/>The EDB is now looking for new markets in order to diversify its market base and to help make Sri Lanka's presence stronger in the European market.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7387930"/>
