Clogau moves gold production to ChinaWednesday, 26th January 2005 (5278 views) Welsh jewellery firm Clogau Gold has announced that it is to move its gold jewellery production to China. The move will also mean the loss of 14 jobs in the North Wales area, following the movement of silver jewellery production to the Far East. Clogau was set up 14 years ago and still uses gold from Clogau mine reserves in its products, according to the BBC. Production movement is reportedly due to meeting consumer demand and new jobs will be created as a result at the company's administrative base. Gold from the mine, which closed in 1998, has been used in the past for items for the Royal family, including pieces for the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
