Irish mining firm Ormonde Mining has acquired a number of gold properties in Spain.

The sites are all advanced gold properties situated in the Salamanca area of western Spain and include deposits where previous workers have found high grade gold.

A number of the areas have been identified as containing high-grade gold but no or only limited follow up exploration work has occurred.

Along with permits previously obtained, the company now has areas that are part of the Salamanca Gold Project.

Ormonde may then earn a 90 per cent interest in the project by staged funding of exploration totalling €2.2 million over a five-year period.

Ormonde is a European exploration company that focuses on developing gold projects in Europe.
