Thursday, 24th February 2005 (9307 views) Latest results from the Assay Chamber show that Russia's production of gold jewellery increased by 22 per cent last year.<br/><br/>According to Interfax, Russia produced 26.942 million items of gold jewellery, using 60.784 tonnes of gold.<br/><br/>The amount of gold used had increased by 14 per cent compared to 2004.<br/><br/>Production in the jewellery sector overall was up, with the amount of platinum, palladium and silver jewellery also increasing.<br/><br/>The chamber hallmarks all jewellery produced and imported to Russia.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7873983"/>
