India's Mehta Jewellery has launched a new collection today for Akshya Trithiya.<br/><br/>The collection of gold and diamond pendants, chains, bangles and earrings have been created for the special festival, which is linked with the Goddess Lakshmi.<br/><br/>According to Indian tradition purchasing gold on this day will lead to people getting more and more gold for the rest of the year.<br/><br/>The Chennai company is opening from 8:30GMT to 0:00GMT on the special day so that customers have longer to purchase the gold.<br/><br/>Mehta is based in T Nagar and is well known for its gold and diamond jewellery.<br/><br/>Akshya Thrithya falls on May 11th this year.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8362702"/>
