The worldwide market for gold jewellery has been made more accessible for retailers, thanks to a new product from former IBM computing engineers.

Jewelry Wizard is a program that will enable retailers to set up online stores via the internet auction site eBay.

Users can register with the system and will be prompted to fill out forms incorporating information about the jewellery they wish to put up for sale.

The program acts as a point of liason between retailers and eBay, allowing dozens of items to be listed on the website every day, National Jeweler reports.

No registration fees or contractual obligations are inflicted on sellers, and jewellers can use their brand names on the site or opt to remain anonymous.

Jewelry Wizard president and founder, Richard Crouse, said: "For us to be successful, our clients have to be successful. That's why we personally consult with prospective clients before they begin with us and then continually afterward to make sure they're managing their eBay business with the best plan for success."
