Three highly unusual gold music discs are to be auctioned at a banquet to raise money for the Royal Hall in Harrogate.

The discs, provided by Our Price, commemorate the musical legends Paul McCartney, Bob Hope and Cliff Richard.

Sealed bids will be accepted for the discs, on which a reserve price has been set because of their value.

"Obviously it depends on who is in the audience but these discs have fetched thousands of pounds in previous auctions," a spokesman for Our Price told Harrogate Today.

"Each disc is unique and fans are lucky to have such an opportunity. They really are valuable collectors' pieces."

The banquet, including champagne reception and four course dinner, will be held at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
