Thursday, 23rd June 2005 (4006 views) A collection of rare Tibetan treasures are to go on display in San Francisco's Asian Art Museum.<br/><br/>The 200 rare treasures are being showcased to offer an insight into culture and beliefs in Tibet.<br/><br/>Tibet: Treasures from the Roof of the World, will run until September 11th, with jewellery and other gold items forming part of the collection, according to the Marin Independent.<br/> <br/>Co-curator, Richard W Clark, said: "Many of these objects are the finest examples of their type. They were mostly made for the Dalai Lamas, and many were gifts from kings and emperors." <br/><br/>The exhibition takes place over three large, ground floor galleries and features bowls, daggers, costumers and lacquered boxes decorated in turquoise, red and gold.<br/><br/>One item that has been described as the key piece of the collection is a gold Five Buddha Crown, made in the early 20th century and consisting of five main segments representing each of the Buddhas.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=16002035"/>
