Wednesday, 21st September 2005 (5834 views) An exhibition of jewellery designer Niabh McGlynn's work will coincide with the Galway International Oyster Festival, reports the Galway Independent. This collection of Ms McGlynn's jewellery designs are inspired by the sea and include an array of silver and gold items ornamented with pearls and precious stones. Ms McGlynn trained under the Craft Council of Ireland before going on to study in Galway. All her work is inspired by her Celtic environment; by the wild landscapes of Connemara and the surrounding history. Although she works primarily with silver embellished with 18-carat gold and rose gold, all her silver pieces can be fashioned purely from gold. Ms McGlynn has also experimented with platinum and white gold. These items will be available for purchase at the Fisheries Tower on the Wolfetone Bridge, Galway until September 25th.
