A Gold Souk will feature at the Global Village 2006 in Dubai, reports the Khaleej Times.

According to the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG), a gold souk will form part of the United Arab Emirates' stall for this year. Gold and jewellery retailers will occupy 26 booths throughout the event.

Global Village attracts visitors from all around the world and recently announced, that in order to encourage business growth, it would be giving a half-price discount to young national entrepreneurs wishing to have a stall at the annual event.

This year's event at Global Village will run from October 26th until March 3rd and, in addition to shops, will provide live entertainment aimed to coincide with national celebrations such as Eid.

Global Village is part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, which takes place in the months of January and February, during which DGJG will commence a unique promotion.
