Monday, 24th October 2005 (4015 views) A new gold panning store is all set to open in Craig, Colorado.Gold-panning enthusiast Bill Burns is to open the store, catering for the needs of fellow gold-hunters, reports the Craig Daily Press. Along with all the requisite apparatus, such as metal detectors and gold panning equipment, the store will be stocking gold jewellery created by local artists. Those not planning to pan for their own gold can, nevertheless, bag themselves a nugget of Craig gold from the selection of gold panned by Mr Burns himself. Explaining the reason behind his shop, Mr Burns commented, "It is a niche in the market that needed to be satisfied". Colorado is noted for its gold and it is estimated that in 1859 up to 100,000 gold seekers flocked to the region to make their fortune.
