Monday, 31st October 2005 (5744 views) India's jewellers are predicting strong demand for gold jewellery this Diwali and many of them have taken the opportunity to launch new collections.The festival of light falls close to the Muslim celebration of Eid, making it a joint celebration for the country's retailers. To coincide with the festive period several jewellers are unveiling new collections and offering various promotions. Ace Jewels is one such company. Its new collection comprises earrings and pendants fashioned from a variety of semi-precious stones and precious metals. Until November 15th, Ace Jewels will be offering complimentary gifts of silver coins, 18-carat gold chains and diamond jewellery to its customers upon purchase of a jewellery item. Jewellery retailers are reporting that demand is still high, despite the recent surge in gold prices. One notable trend this season is diamond-studded gold jewellery, which has proved particularly popular among younger consumers.
