Friday, 19th May 2006 (3820 views) A number of Thracian treasures are set to go on display at the Archaeological Museum, Varna, including the world-famous Varna golden treasure.Artefacts to be exhibited date from 5th centure BC to 3 AD and industry experts claim that the Varna golden treasure is one of the oldest in the world, dating from 4,400 BC. There are 90 gold objects that form the treasure, each weighing more than 1.5 kilogrammes, with only one necklace weighing less - 500 grammes. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to view the Vulchitrun treasure, which comprises of 13 gold goblets and plates. Other pieces on show will include examples of Panagyurishte and Rogozen treasures, which are making a rare visit to Bulgaria.
