Guatemalan gold found by AuroginThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 23rd January 2007 (3270 views) Aurogin Resources, a junior gold producer in the Americas, has announced the results of its recently completed drill programme in Guatemala. The firm's El Arenal zone received eleven drill holes over an area measuring 500 metres by 100 metres. Ten of these holes intersected gold mineralisation of a sizeable thickness and grade with one in particular intersecting 23 metres with a grade of 1.59 grams of gold per tonne. Neil Gow, the vice president of exploration, said: "We are very pleased with these latest results because they confirm and extend the previous testing by Radius and Goldfields." He added that using this data the company wants to prepare a mineral resource estimate for the El Arenal zone as soon as possible because it is only one of a number of interesting exploration targets in the area. Aurogin's objectives for 1007 include producing 20,000 to 30,000 ounces of gold at the El Seastre main zone and expanding its Guatemalan project resource base to a figure over one million ounces of gold.
