High grade underground ore has been encountered on a significant scale following drilling work carried out by PMI Gold at Manso-Nkran in the Amansie West District of Ashanti, Ghana.

The newly acquired Obotan mine from Resolute Amansie was the subject of moderate depth drilling and Douglas Macquaine, leader of PMI Gold's four member delegation, has said he is now contemplating focusing on the rocks dump at the Manso-Nkran pit.

Mr Macquaine released details of the drilling campaign at a meeting with Paramount Chief of Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II, which was designed to educate the local populace as to the nature of the mining work that would take place in the region.

Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II responded to the news by indicating that the mining company that they should consider the youth in the area in terms of employment and he thanked the firm for its presence.

Obotan is one of three mines acquired by PMI Gold from Resolute Amansie, alongside Abore and Adubiaso.
