Monday, 26th February 2007 (5503 views) Midland Minerals will begin drilling on its Sian property in Ghana this April, according to reports. The Toronto-based gold mining company is due to being drilling in two months to approximately 10,000 metres, with the objective of "increasing the indicated resource at Esaase Mine and to develop additional resources on the entire property". Marc Boisvert, vice president of exploration at the gold mining company, explained that the drilling programmes, which will involve diamond drilling with holes at 50 metre intervals, could help target the Esaase deposit's indicated resource of 100,000 ounces of gold. Meanwhile, a reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme is also to begin this year, in order to assess the soil geochemical trends and target gold showings on the extensions of the Esaase property. "In this current drill program, the Company is focusing its efforts on the Sian property. Drill targets on the contiguous Kwahu Praso property, which form the north extension of the gold district of the Esaase Mine, will be drill tested later this year," said Mr Boisvert.
