"Encouraging results" from ArianaThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 21st March 2007 (2971 views) Ariana Resources has announced that it has produced some "encouraging results" from drilling work undertaken at its project in the west of Turkey.Ongoing geophysical surveying work and drilling at the Kinik project has now confirmed that the gold mineralisation found at surface also has depth continuity. Kerim Sener, the managing director of the company, said: "The geological setting of the prospect, the unusual style of mineralisation encountered and the new data obtained from drill testing, suggests that additional drilling at this locality is warranted." He explained that the firm is now in the process of securing a specially commissioned drilling rig for this purpose with work at the prospect planned for during the summer of 2007. Some of the highlights from the eight drills made by Ariana Resources include an intersection of 1.41 grams of gold per tonne over 6.2 metres and another stretch of 1.9 metres with a grade of 4.17 grams of gold per tonne. The eight holes were drilled over a 750 metre-long soil anomaly with the firm saying it expects to release its first resource statement in the next quarter of 2007.
