Drilling will begin in the newly discovered gold-copper zone of Kessel-Ylesia in north-central Quebec, Beaufield Resources has announced.

The zone forms part of the Opinaca property, which spans 14,000 acres and sits alongside the Goldcorp Eleonore property.

A minimum of 1,500 metres' drilling is scheduled for the area, across three discrete sites.

The Kessel-Ylesia zone, where molybdenum gold and copper mineralization has been identified in quartz veins spanning 350 metres, is considered the most promising.

Across 43 rock samples taken from the Kessel-Ylesia zone, an average of 0.5 grams per tonne of gold and 5.7 grams per tonne of silver was discovered.

Accompanying targets on the Opinaca property will include the Vortex zone, following the discovery of 1.1 grams of gold per tonne in an earlier 20 metre drilling phase.

Another target six kilometres east of the Roberto gold deposit Goldcorp is currently drilling and on the same trend completes the trio.

Beaufield explores for gold and base metals in Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba, targeting areas "in close proximity to known mining camps".
