Million plus estimate for AurizonThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 28th March 2007 (2958 views) Following an update of its mineral resource estimate at the Joanna project, Aurizon Mines has declared that around 1.1 million ounces of gold in the inferred category could be present at the site. The estimate relates specifically to the Casa Berardi gold mine at the Joanna project, Quebec, Canada, and predictions currently stand at 5.4 million tonnes at an average gold grade of 1.8 grams per tonne. Additionally, the estimate points to an indicated category resource of 21.8 million tonnes that has an average gold grade of 1.6 grams per tonne. Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates was the company which produced the estimates for Aurizon Mines' Casa Berardi gold mine and the predictions were based on last year's drilling programme at the 113 zone. This newly created estimate is similar to the one established from 2005's feasibility study and David Hall, Aurizon Mines' chief executive, said: "Aurizon is confident of achieving commercial production in the second quarter, confirming that the main parameters of the Updated Feasibility Study are now fully appropriate for the mining plan at Casa Berardi."
