Safety record hits milestone at QuadraMonday, 21st May 2007 (2611 views) Quadra Mining of Vancover is very pleased to announce that it has now hit the milestone of one million employee hours without suffering an accident at the Robinson mine.The milestone at the mine - which is estimated will produce some 60,000 ounces of gold and 125 million pounds of copper during 2007 - relates to accidents that require time off from work. Robinson mine is located near to Ely, White Pine County and the achievement of the one million hours without a lost time accident equates to more than a year is in addition to a reduction of "medical reportable incidents, first aid cases and material damage incidents," the company says. Commenting, Jack Miller, chief operations officer at the company, said: "Quadra is extremely proud of all of the employees at Robinson for reaching this major milestone. Safety is one of Quadra's core values and the accomplishment by Robinson is very satisfying in our growth as a new company." Canadian Mining Journal reports that the Robinson mine is currently operating at less than half the national average of medical reportable injuries in the mining industry. At present the average is 3.03 per workforce of 200,000.
