Production begins at La CurritaWednesday, 20th June 2007 (2151 views) Gold mining company Raven Gold Corporation has announced that it has commenced production at its La Currita Mill.According to Raven, the mill is now capable of working at a capacity of 300 tonnes per day and once at full capacity will be able to produce around 1.5 tonnes of concentrate per working day. The La Currita mine was previously in steady production from 1983 until 1998 and an exploration programme in 1998 suggested grades of 2.59 grammes of gold per tonne. "The grades we have been processing at La Currita have been better than expected and we look forward to the upcoming exploration programme being conducted to expose the full potential of La Currita," commented Blair Naughty, president of Raven. Mr Naughty added that he was pleased with the results and excited to be at revenue stage. He was recently appointed to the role of chief executive officer and president of Raven following Gary Haukeland's decision to step down from the day-to-day running of the company.
