Aker Kvaerner Metals contracted for gold projectThursday, 21st June 2007 (2205 views) Engineering company Aker Kvaerner has been awarded a contract from Peruvian gold mining company Compania de Minas Buenaventura for a gold autoclave.The gold autoclave is for the mining company's Poracota mine at Peri's Orcopampa district, in the Province of Castilla. Engineering company Aker Kvaerner has been contracted provide basic engineering and manage the gold ore pressure oxidation autoclave facility. "Aker Kvaerner's scope of work includes the circuit design, equipment sizing, preparation of bid packages and production of layouts to support the capital and operating cost estimates," a statement read. It also noted that following the basic engineering package will be detailed engineering work. Poracota is west of Buenaventura's Orcopampa mine at an elevation of 4,000 metres in the Peruvian Andes. Buenaventura currently operates seven mines in Peru the Orcopampa, Uchucchacua, Antapite, Julcani, Recuperada, Shila-Paula and Ishihuinca mines.
