Increased gold reserves for Atlanta

Monday, 23rd July 2007 (2098 views)

Gold resource estimates at Atlanta Gold's Idaho property have been increased following testing.

Based on a CSA national instrument 43-101 compliant technical report, Atlanta's Idaho gold resource and reserves have been updated to show an increase of 2.4 million tonnes of material containing an additional 166,000 ounces of gold.

In 2005 a feasibility study revealed an inferred total of 475,000 ounces of gold, however the 2007 study shows 635,000 ounces of gold - an increase of 33.7 per cent and the equivalent of 160,000 tonnes.

"The technical report estimates that Atlanta contains mineral reserves of approximately 23.2 million tonnes grading 0.050 ounces of gold per tonne ... this equates to 722,000 ounces of gold," Atlanta noted in a statement.

Atlanta Gold has gold properties in Idaho and Quebec. Gold was discovered in the vicinity of Atlanta, Idaho in 1863 with the most productive years falling between 1870 and 1957 when production was estimated at 297,000 ounces of gold.
