Training programme initiated by Dubai GoldTuesday, 24th July 2007 (3179 views) Dubai Gold and Jewellery group has launched a training programme aimed at jewellery professionals and enthusiastsThe course is conducted by Jean-Mathieu Mangnay, a graduate gemologist from International Gemmology Institute at Antwerp and an expert in coloured stones, AME News reveals. According to the news provider, the programme is focussed on the principles of identification and systematic classification of coloured stones and how to distinguish between natural and synthetic stones. "The coloured stones market in Dubai is slowly shifting its focus from being a supply - driven business to becoming more consumer focused. Customers are now increasingly fashion - conscious and they give added importance to design and style and not just the value," commented KP Baiju, general manager, Dubai Gold and Jewellery group. Dubai Gold and Jewellery group conducts various training programmes for its members throughout the year. Sales of gold in Dubai in June rose by 34 per cent in June compared to the same period in 2006.
