Designer jeweller Tiffany & Co is to open a new boutique which will sell gold jewellery in Bologna, Italy, it has been revealed.

Offered at the new boutique will be a selection of Tiffany's collections including its celebrated engagement rings and platinum and 18-carat gold set jewels.

Designers such as Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger and Frank Gehry will have their gold jewellery stocked at the store.

"With its luxury shopping, fine restaurants and thriving business and residential community, Bologna is a natural setting for a Tiffany & Co boutique," commented Cesare Settepassi, vice president of Tiffany & Co Europe.

He added that the company has secured its perfect location on Galleria Cavour – which is an "upscale" shopping area, fitting in with Tiffany's plans to bring its products to a sophisticated market.

Tiffany retails a number of gold and white gold products at its global stores.
