Planet Exploration strikes gold

Friday, 24th August 2007 (2014 views)

Gold mining company Planet Exploration has announced that it has encountered gold mineralisation during drilling at the Upper Duck Zone in Ontario.

According to Planet Exploration, it encountered gold assays of up to 158.02 grammes per tonne of gold over 0.50 metres.

Planet Exploration describes the Upper Duck Zone as a "steeply dipping" area with silicate-sulphide facies iron formation which features strong arsenopyrite mineralisation.

"Numerous specks of fine visible gold were observed disseminated throughout both intersections," the company noted in a statement.

It added that the Upper Duck Zone will see additional drilling once work has been completed on the Main Discovery Zone.

Last month, Planet Exploration announced the addition of Michael Dehn to its corporate and technical team.
