Kirkland Lake Gold confirms results at Ontario siteThursday, 27th September 2007 (2042 views) Further definition drilling tests have confirmed the grade and continuity of gold discovered in the New South zone of the South Lake Complex, according to Kirkland Lake Gold. The initial drilling established the continuity and grade of gold over a dip component of 50 feet and a strike length of 70 feet. "With all of the definition holes returning one or more assay greater than ten ounces of gold per ton, the continuity of the high grade in this portion of the New South Zone is extraordinary," said chief geologist Mike Sutton. He added that some exploration drills at the property have been converted to definition drilling to further planning and development at the site. The Canadian gold mining company has five operations in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, with a camp located on the Southern Greenstone Belt. According to the Sudbury Mining Solutions Journal, Kirkland Lake Gold currently produces 60,000 ounces of gold per year.
