Drilling planned for La CurritaThursday, 25th October 2007 (1797 views) Plans for two Phase One drilling operations, covering a combined total of 3,500 metres at Raven Gold's La Currita project are underway, according to the company.A ten-hole surface diamond drilling programme covering 2,500 metres is currently being prepared, as well as an additional 30-hole underground drilling programme expected to extend 1,000 metres in length. Following analysis of the Phase One programme results, the company will consider doing further Phase Two drilling on the site. The La Currita project, located in Chihuahua State, Mexico, recently received a four-day visit from Raven Gold's independent consultant, David Petersen, who confirmed that chip samples have revealed gold continuation along the Sulema vein extending at least 200 metres farther than previously explored. According to the company, Mr Petersen's announcement signifies that the length of the Sulema vein is at least 1,050 metres. The La Currita project is situated 400 kilometres south-west of the city of Chihuahua in the Temoris mining district. Raven Gold reported that two historic gold mines are situated within the La Currita project, including the bonanza-grade San Luis gold mine, which was active until production was halted by flooding in 1963.
