New resource estimate at El VictorTuesday, 20th November 2007 (1886 views) A newly-completed resource estimate from the El Victor gold deposit has increased the measured and indicated reserves of the precious metal on the site, Alamos Gold has announced.According to the new calculations, the resource has increased by 499,000 ounces of gold based on the results of a 19,220-metre drilling programme totalling 175 drill holes. The estimate has been applied to 800 metres of the zone, which remains open to the south-west. Since the resource estimation drilling has finished on the site, an additional operation has extended the length of the mineralised zone by a further 500 metres, with an additional preliminary resource estimate expected in early 2008. Alamos Gold is currently working to outline new resources and reserves near its Mulatos Mine in Sonora, Mexico, which reached commercial production in April 2006. The project is located within a 28,500-hectare land area of mining concessions known as the Salamandra group.
