Wednesday, 21st November 2007 (4064 views) Some 5,000 pieces of jewellery are set to be displayed at the end of this month when the Festival of Gold 2007 takes place in Goa.Zee News reports that the event will be India's biggest gold and jewellery event and will present items from across the country. The regions of Kolkata, Rajkot, Konkan and Delhi will all be showcasing pieces at the exhibition, which begins on November 29th. Ans A Majumdar, chief general manager of festival organiser Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation, told the news provider that various parts of India will all display equally stunning items. "The exhibition is an initiative to provide quality, hallmarked gold jewellery to customers," he said. And the use of gold is developing throughout the country, he added. "Gold is not just an ornament for many ... people look at it from a security point of view." The show is a travelling exhibition and began last month in New Delhi, according to Diamond World.
