Sage plans for more drilling

Friday, 14th December 2007 (2025 views)

Mineral exploration and development firm Sage has announced plans for a core drilling programme on two properties in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp, in addition to the 8,000 metres of work currently being carried out on the site.

Drilling operations are set to take place on both the Jacobus and Onaman properties, which will test the continuity of gold mineralisation on the sites.

Operations scheduled for the Jacobus property will focus on further exploration of gold mineralisation discovered during a drilling campaign this autumn, while new zones are set to be explored on the Onaman property.

"We are very excited about the progress on all our Beardmore-Geraldton properties, especially in the light of the recent gold discovery by Kodiak and the implications for similar mineralisation on our Jacobus property," said Nigel Lees, president and chief executive officer of Sage.

The project is located in close proximity to the Hercules project - owned by Kodiak Exploration – and is hoped to contain similar high-grade gold mineralisation.

Sage is currently exploring a number of properties in the province of Ontario and the states of Nevada and Arizona.
