Gold ring returned to owner

Monday, 17th December 2007 (1966 views)

A precious and personalised gold ring has been returned to its owner who feared he might never see his cherished item of jewellery again, according to recent report.

David Packard from the city of Lake Oswego in the American state of Oregon lost his gold ring in a local car park, but was overjoyed when he spotted an ad in the regional newspaper explaining that just such an item had been found in the same location.

Given that the ring had been given to him by his wife almost 30 years ago, Mr Packard was thrilled when he was able to meet with another local resident Anne Chen, who had found the item and placed the ad, the Lake Oswego Review reports.

In reference to the ring itself Ms Chen said: "It's really heavy and quite impressive. It was custom made and had initials on the face."

"I think it's the best Christmas present I'm going to give all year," she added.

Meanwhile, a recent report from the Herald News revealed that a gold wedding ring and three gold coins have been handed to the Salvation Army based in Grundy County, Illinois.
