Gold exploration and development company Evolving Gold has acquired a 100 per cent undivided interest in the Rattlesnake Hills gold prospect in Wyoming, the company has confirmed.

The company says the 3,300-acre property, which is located around 70 kilometres west of Casper, Wyoming, has a similar geological setting and style to the gold deposits found at Cripple Creek, Colorado, which have produced over 20 million ounces of gold.

Rattlesnake Hills had already produced "significant" gold intercepts during previous drilling by the American Copper and Nickel Company in the 1980s and later Newmont Mining, the company said.

It announced the interest deal after signing a definitive option agreement with Golden Predator and receiving a binding letter agreement from Bald Mountain Mining.

Evolving Gold's exploration and drilling programme at Rattlesnake Hills is set to begin in the second quarter of 2008.

According to government statistics, Wyoming is the 10th largest state in the US at over 97,000 square miles, yet with around 515,000 residents, it is also the least populated.
