Gold jewellery a "big hit" for weddings in 2008

Tuesday, 29th January 2008 (2875 views)

Gold is the latest trend tipped for success this year in wedding jewellery, it has been suggested.

Bonni Davis, vice president of sales at jewellery firm lia sophia, commented that the gold will be a "big hit" during 2008 among brides planning to look their best in the coming months.

"Gold jewellery is making a comeback. The classic yellow metal looks great against any skin tone and brings richness to wedding gowns," Mr Davis said.

"A wedding is perhaps one of the most important and exciting events in an individual's life - especially for the bride - and she should look her best," he added.

Angelic white tones for wedding gowns and beaded necklaces with coloured crystals and stones are popular trends in bridesmaid jewellery, Mr Davis remarked.

His comments come as February marks National Weddings Month in recognition of the 29 days of awareness received by couples planning to wed in the coming months.

A family business, lia Sophia was originally set up by Victor Kiam, the entrepreneurial father of Tory, the firm's current president.
