Adventure Gold signs deal for Canada property

Thursday, 31st January 2008 (2742 views)

Junior mining exploration firm Adventure Gold has signed an agreement with a group of Canadian prospectors in for a 100 per cent interest in the Meunier 144 gold property in Ontario.

The property, which sits approximately 11 miles west of Timmins, in south-east Ontario, consists of ten mining claims covering a total of 161 hectares.

It is part of the Timmins Gold Camp, a highly productive area that has yielded over 70 million ounces of gold over the past 100 years.

Recent discoveries around the property include a mineral resource containing 1.29 million ounces graded at 12.3 g/t, which was found by Lake Shore Gold in 2007.

Adventure Gold president, Marco Gagnon, said he was "very enthusiastic" about the new acquisition and felt Meunier 144 had "very strong potential" for the discovery of a new gold-rich ore deposit.

"Exploration work, including diamond drilling, will be carried out on the property within a year," he added.

Adventure Gold's other properties include mines in Quebec's Val D'or region, which is also known as the Valley of Gold.
