Crescent Gold makes high-grade intersectMonday, 18th February 2008 (1815 views) A diamond drill programme near the Laverton gold plant in Western Australia has returned high-grade gold intersects, according to the company behind the scheme.Crescent Gold says the drilling, which was carried out five kilometres south of Laverton at the Bells deposit, found a 16.4 metre-wide zone average 12.4 g/t gold. This included a 19-centimetre section of 390 g/t gold. Other intersects included a metre of 27.40 g/t gold, a metre of 16.60 g/t gold and a metre of 16.30 g/t gold. Previous drilling at the deposit had partially defined the zone, which strikes north to south and remains open at depth. Further drilling is scheduled for the site in March. Indicated resources at the Bells deposit are 38,000 ounces of gold graded at 2.0 g/t contained with 590,000 tonnes. Its inferred resources are 1,700 ounces of 1.4 g/t gold contained within 40,000 tonnes. The Laverton gold plant, near Kalgoorie, has indicated resources of 950,000 ounces at 1.5 g/t gold contained within 20.1 million tonnes. Its annual production is expected to be 90,000 ounces of gold.
