Reverse circulation drilling at the Nyieme gold prospect in Burkina Faso, west Africa, has intersected high-grade gold, the company behind the work has said.

Sanu Resources said the best results from the programme include 11.67 g/t gold over five metres, 16.76 g/t gold over one metre and 17.83 g/t gold across one metre.

Other results include one metre of 4.52 g/t gold, one metre of 4.46 g/t gold and one metre of 4.01 g/t gold.

The company added that drilling and surface sampling work indicates that gold shoots the project are between 100 and 200 metres in length.

Overall, 26 holes were drilled for the programme over a 1.2 kilometre strike length. The holes were paired into 13 fences designed to intersect mineralisation at depths of 40 metres and 80 metres.

The Nyieme prospect is one of four exploration projects Sanu Resources is currently engaged in within Burkina Faso.

It is also working on exploration in Eritrea in east Africa and in Morocco to the north.
