Adventure announces gold drilling in QuebecThursday, 28th February 2008 (1840 views) A 3,000-metre gold drilling programme is to be carried out at three properties in the Val d'Or region of Quebec, Canada exploration company Adventure Gold has announced. The company said work will be focussed on the Beaufor West, Beaufor North and Lapaska properties, with drilling set to commence in March. It follows work by mining and exploration consultant Innovexplo to compile a record of historical exploration work on the sites, which assisted Adventure in identified "many high-quality drill targets". The Beaufor properties are located around 35 kilometres north-east of Val d'Or itself, next to the Beaufor mine. To date, Adventure Gold says four zones with "strong" exploration potential have been identified. Lapaska, meanwhile, is located within the Louvicourt township around 15 kilometres east of Val d'Or. Innovexplo's compilation work identified two sectors for exploration on the 333-hectare property, including the Central zone, where sampling results included 9.4 g/t gold over 4.7 metres. Returns for the West zone included 6.2 g/t gold over a width of 2.5 metres. Adventure Gold said this represented "another sector with strong potential". Adventure Gold is currently developing five projects in Canada, including the Meunier 144 property in Ontario and the Dubuisson and Pascalis-Colombiere properties in Quebec.
