US bus passenger "finds pot of gold"

Wednesday, 19th March 2008 (3957 views)

A man from Colorado travelling to Denver reportedly made a lucky discovery when he stepped off the bus in the city's depot - a pot of gold.

TheBostonChannel.com reports that the man, Nick Rawlinson, was getting off the bus when he noticed a small plastic pot. In it he found $50 (£25) worth of Sacagawea gold dollars accompanied by a note reportedly saying "there's not enough magic in the world".

Sacagawea dollar coins were introduced in 2000 and are one of only two types of dollar coins currently in circulation.

They feature a rendering of Sacagawea, a Native American of the Shoshone tribe who was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition - the first American party to complete the journey to the Pacific coast and back.

Sacagawea acted as an interpreter for the group, helping the expedition's commanders Captain Meriwether Lewis and Lieutenant William Clark to communicate with Native American tribes including the Hidasta tribe, which was settled on the Missouri River.

According to theBostonChannel.com, Mr Rawlinson said he intends to pass on his good luck.
