Explorer strikes high-grade gold in MexicoTuesday, 25th March 2008 (1970 views) High-grade gold mineralisation valued at up to 11.15 g/t gold over one metre has been recovered from the recently discovered El Arroyo area in Mexico, the explorer developing the property has confirmed.Gold Resource said drilling on the zone, which is part of the El Aguila gold project, returned some of the highest-grade intercepts it has encountered to date in the area. Other results from the holes completed at El Arroyo include intersections of 4.34 g/t gold over two metres, 6.79 g/t gold over one metre and 6.13 g/t gold over one metre. Highlights from previous drilling on the new zone include 48.30 g/t gold over one metre and 25.27 g/t gold over three metres, the company said. Commenting on the results, Gold Resource president William W Reid said high-grade mineralisation at El Arroyo was similar to that found at another high-grade deposit, La Arista. "Though it is too early to say definitively, it may be the case these two high-grade mineralized areas, La Arista and El Arroyo, are continuous," he said. El Aguila is one of four projects Gold Resource is currently developing in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The other include Solaga, El Rey and Las Margaritas.
