Monday, 21st April 2008 (1181 views)

Exclusive gold jewellery designs are set to go on show in Goa, India, as part of a new exhibition of pieces by Mumbai jewellery house Chintamani's, according to reports.

The Navhind Times says the event is intended to bring "the very best of hallmarked gold" jewellery and brands including Asmi, Arisia and Nakshatra to the region.

Pieces will be displayed at two shows, one in Panjim from April 23rd to April 25th and another in Margao running from April 27th to April 29th, the newspaper adds.

Chintamani's has previously claimed the prestigious Swarnanjalia award three times for its gold jewellery designs, which it sells through four main showrooms in Mumbai, at Prabhadevi, Girgaum, Thana and Borivali.

The company also opened a jewellery design school at Laulbaug for 450 students.

According to investmentu.com, India's gold consumption rose 57 per cent in the 12 months to March 2006, following a 63 per cent increase the year before.
