High-grade gold strike in Canada

Wednesday, 21st May 2008 (647 views)

Drilling at the Greywacke joint venture project in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, has returned "significant high-grade" gold mineralisation, it has been announced.

Masuparia Gold, which is developing the site in partnership with Golden Band Resources, said it completed 19 drill holes to a total depth of 3,000.73 metres at Greywacke, with exploration focused on the North and South zones.

Work on the North deposit attempted to define the boundaries and consistency of gold mineralisation within the zone, while drilling in the South target area was designed to test its potential for commercial development.

Of the 19 holes completed during March and April 2008, nine holes intersected high-grade mineralisation, the company said, with the best intercept returning a gold value of 17.31 g/t gold over 5.33 metres.

Other key assay results include gold graded at 16.10 g/t gold over 5.90 metres, 29.61 g/t gold over 0.5 metres and 33.48 g/t gold over 0.5 metres.

In addition to its Canadian project, Masuparia Gold also has operations in the state Chihuahua, northern Mexico.
