Exploration firm Lakota Resources has unveiled plans for a diamond drilling programme on the Tembo gold property in Tanzania.

Multiple drill holes are planned for the 2,000-metre campaign, the company said, in order to target gold-bearing zones in the southern area of the property.

Previous exploration drilling in this region has returned intersections with gold values of 7.03 g/t gold over four metres and 36.70 g/t gold over one metre.

Preparations for the work are currently underway and subject to the availability of suitable rigs, drilling is slated to start no later than July 1st this year, Lakota said.

The Tembo project comprises 22 prospecting licenses over an area of around 112.5 square kilometres in north-central Tanzania, near the gold producing Bulyanhulu mine, which is situated to the east.

The property is also part of the Lake Victoria gold field, which spans Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
